Update Claire Sylvia Dead

Claire Sylvia passed away on August 19, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston at the age of 69.









Claire Sylvia's Obituary


Sylvia, Claire, 69, of Lighthouse Point and Brookline, MA, and former resident of Hull, MA, died on August 19, 2009. Devoted mother to Amara Cohen and her husband, Dan Cohen, of Brookline, MA. She was a loving grandmother to Zachary and Andrew Cohen. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Kurtz of New York, and her nephews Scott, Robert, and Stuart Kurtz . Claire was the 1st patient to receive a heart/lungs transplant at a New England hospital. She lived a full and active life for 21 years after receiving the transplant. Claire had been a professional dancer, teacher, and author of "A Change of Heart". A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.   1. I am reading Claire's book--it's wonderfully inspiring, and I was so sad, when I looked her up on the Internet, to find that she had passed away a few years ago. Does anyone know what she died from? She was such a courageous woman--and her story is so amazing . . .
